Hackberry is a beautiful unique wood that is less commonly seen than many others. This specific piece of it is truly exceptional in quality and character. The black lines from the spalting creates beautiful contrast to the lighter colored wood. The front live edge face is completely covered in shallow bug trails giving the whole piece a truly one of a kind look. All of the cracks and splits were filled in so the piece is as smooth and catch free as can be. The mantel was finished with a chocolate finish to warm and darken the lighter colored wood and help fit in with the beautiful house and setting that it found its home in.
